I’ve been doing FreeRice and getting at least 1,000 grains about every week.
L8.7: I Can use context (e.g., the overall meaning of a sentence or paragraph; a word’s position or function in a sentence) as a clue to discover the meaning of a word or phrase.
This “I Can” statement means that if you are reading something and you don’t understand a word, you just look at the sentence it’s in and basically figure out what it means by what’s happening already.
For example, I was reading my book the other day and I read the sentence “There was ample hiding space.” I didn’t know what ample meant, but they were talking about a very crowded room with lots of files stacked into towers, so I figured it meant a lot, or plenty.
